Hello everyone,
I'm a student currently doing an msc in Bioinformatics. One of the things that I love about bioinformatics it´s the possibility of working and doing research remotely, and in consequence, actively participate in the exchange of information and knowledge.
I'm really interested in phylogenetics and protein design, so I would love to know if there´s currently some known open group working in the development of software or techniques in these branches. Even so, I would be delighted to know that there´s a group of these characteristics in anything related with bioinformatics research or open software development.
Thanks a lot!
Hi,
I think Luís Pedro Coelho lab has one open position for a remote internship about bioinformatics: http://big-data-biology.org/positions/remote-internships/
I think the lab is a bit more focused on metagenomics than phylogenetics and protein design. Although they have developed a new tool to predict antimicrobial peptide from genomes and metagenomes. I guess that depending on your interests the project might follow a different path.
