converting graphics parameter "inch" to "mex"

Hey, everyone.

I want to ask simple question to R user. Are there any methods to convert graphics parameter "inch" to "mex" ?

I set margin of plots by function mar, and now I want to combine mar and strwidth.
However strwidth only returns "inch". So I want to know that.
