TCGA datasets to explore the role of gene target in cancer

Hi I have a gene target, and need to identify which cancer types are mostly likely to be targeted.

How one can utilize TCGA datasets to address this question. Any relevant papers or approaches?

Go to cBioPortal. You can then specify cancer types and genes of interest, and it will then perform a wide range of analyses with corresponding plots.
