SSR marker design
HI, I have some confusion regarding designing primers for Microsatellite motifs.Can anyone tell me upto how many basepairs upstream or downstream the unique flanking region for the motif should be find ? I have seen in some articles that even though their motif length is 10-15 bp ,the total length after primer design is 200-300 bp. Is it possible to have those flanking region that far away ?
