Bioinformatics and Machine Learning unsolved problems

Hello everyone. I want to have a research problem in area of bioinformatics and machine learning. I have gone through some of the current famous topics but then those are very explored area (DNA sequence prediction,etc.). So, if anyone can give me some insights in this area, please let me know.

You’re probably more likely to find areas you can offer iterative improvement on (antigenicity prediction for instance), than truly ‘unsolved questions’.

There would be merit in exploring different network architectures for instance, for a problem which is perhaps already solved but with room for improvement.

yes sir, I got that but rather than saying "Unsolved problems", I would like to know about the problems which can be solved using some machine learning techniques. So, can you give me some ideas/problems which are of course not that explored but solvable? I have already suggested the solved problems (which we can solve may be by using some other techniques) to the Professor (I am working under) but he is not that satisfied with this idea. :(
