Lost keyboard access after biolinux 8 boot
I recently installed BioLinux 8 which is based upon the Ubuntu 14.04 desktop release. I've gotten BioLinux to boot from my USB drive. However, after the intial start up screen, when the desktop environment is shown, I can no longer use my keyboard or my track pad. Could someone interpret what may be going wrong and how I can solve my issue?

Not a solution, but shouldn't you rather take a more recent OS?
Use a wired keyboard and mouse. Some issue with the bluetooth connection.
Though your flavor of Linux is "Bio"something, I bet you'll get more answers on https://superuser.com/ or https://unix.stackexchange.com/ .
In any case, your problem is a bit unclear.
When drivers don't work out of the box, it can become quite a hassle to compile them, are you ready for this? You might be better of using a more recent version of , for example Ubuntu and pull the necessary software via the package manager.
I agree BioLinux does seem outdated, my next attempt was dowloading Ubuntu on a USB drive. Still ran into the problem of the keyboard not working. It seems to be a common occurrence with Surface Laptops. Still trying to solve this problem, however.
