Forum: Suggestions for: Annotating the genome using analysis of genomic/ proteomic data

I'm a Bioinformatics software developer and I predominantly work with building biomedical applications. I recently applied for a Bioinformatician role and I've been asked to do a presentation on "Annotating the genome using analysis of genomic/ proteomic data". I don't have any experience related to genome annotation or in genetics to be honest. Since computing is my strong asset I have chose this article for my presentation: Machine learning and genome annotation: a match meant to be?.

Any thoughtful suggestion is highly appreciated. Most importantly I would like to know if this is an appropriate article for the topics I've been asked to present. If not, please suggest one or two relevant topics which I choose from.

annotation career

There are a lot of posts in "Biostars" about it.

Start with this one:

Software for Genome Annotation

Then look at the right panel of the post above, you will see a lot of similar posts.

If it's not enough, go to the upper left corner, select LATEST and type your question to

the empty string in the middle of the resulting page.

Then go to NCBI and search for proper articles.

Or go to Google and seach for other seminars, workshops, etc.
