Hi,

Let's say among differentially expressed genes (cancer versus normal) we have 200 genes involved in the cell cycle pathway. Some of these genes upregulate cell cycling, some of them down regulate it. Is there a way for us to determine whether there is increased cell cycling in cancer samples by having increased expression of the upregulation genes and decreased expression of the down regulation genes?

See answer to this question: How to answer if the biological process is up or down-regulated?

But basically, no, there is no generic way to do this.
