I'm an iOS developer who would really like to take part in and somehow contribute to a life sciences and/or bioinformatics project, where can I go to look?

I'm not enrolled in a University, or else I would go knocking on door there. But curious if there are some places one can go to seek out researchers in need someone with mobile development skills.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
