Illumina Miseq NEB Library Prep (Adapter/Index Ligated together)

Hello,

We have been using the NEB Next enzyme suite to build libraries for sequencing on our MiSeq. The protocol adds adapters by ligation (a TA-like method I believe) and then you build onto that the indexes in a final PCR. Is it possible to simply design adapters with indexes so that a sequencing-ready library fragment results? Does anyone have experience with this? Are there problems with this approach?
