TCGA download using gdc client: unable to connect to API error

Hi everyone,

When I tried to download some TCGA bam files using gdc data transfer tool, i.e.

./gdc-client download 00c0f995-1429-4c2d-9ffd-dbb71ffeaba7 -t token/sometoken.txt

I got the following error:

2017-07-20 09:33:16,230: ERROR: Unable to download 00c0f995-1429-4c2d-9ffd-dbb71ffeaba7: Unable to connect to API: (HTTPSConnectionPool(host='gdc-api.nci.nih.gov', port=443): Read timed out. (read timeout=60)). Is this url correct: 'https://gdc-api.nci.nih.gov/data/'? Is there a connection to the API? Is the server running?

SUMMARY: Failed to download: 1

I have no idea what this error msg means since it worked up until yesterday...I am using gdc client binary distribution v1.2.0 OSX (I have Mac OS Sierra). Also tried using manifest file but again the same error occurs.
