Hello everyone!

I have a list of ~22,500 predicted peptides from a newly sequenced non-model organism genome. I ran it against the Swissprot database using blastp, and found that multiple predicted peptides were matched up to the same human GTPase protein (all with ~55% similarity). I aligned all of the sequences and found that they are pretty similar, plus all have the conserved GTPase P-loop domain.

Is this an indicator of "peptide copy number" or "gene copy number"?
