In a induced pluripotency experiment, what happens to the cells that do not become pluripotent?
Hi all,
I am new to this topic, so please forgive me if this is a stupid question. The efficiency in a induced pluripotency experiment is usually very low, meaning that in these experiments a lot of cells do not become pluripotent. My questions is this: what happens to these cells? Do they basically remain unchanged (in terms of gene expression)? or do the gene expression levels change, but the change is not in a way that is required to give rise to pluripotency.

Those cells should die somehow, probably by apoptosis because they aren't pluripotent. That said, you are on a bioinformatics forum. I would suggest something like
