Hello all,

I've to do metagenome data analysis and i'm confused about different terms used for it.

I heard about

1) Amplicon sequencing which includes only 16s rRNAs. 2) Metatranscriptome which includes all RNAs (rRNAs, tRNAs and mRNAs etc.) 3) Shortgun Metagenomic Sequencing ?? i'm confused about this part. Can anyone explain me what all sequences would be included in shortgun sequencing ?

Thanks

It really depends on what you're after and how much money you have to spend, I'd suggest reading some review articles.
