bioinformatics field study

I want to prepare a bioinformatics course for microbiology and biochemistry students on areas where we can apply bioinformatics ; So my question : the predicitive microbiology is considered a part in bioinformatics science ? what tools were used to study artificial neural networks ? I can also integrate the chemoinformatics in the course ?

what do you mean exactly by the predictive microbiology? do you mean Risk assessment?

about chemoinformatics yes for sure

regarding microbiology what about selected topics in metagenomics?

predictive microbiology : modeling the growth/death of bacteria and fungus to produce a food product at industrial level with mathematical model (primary, secondary, tertialy) , there are some software that do this work, but still need to prelabale cultivating the microorganism in the laboratory level to know the optimal conditions for growth and synthesis, normally it is a science apart, but I found in some references that it is combined with bioinformatics
