GenBank Nucleotide Sequences for Annotation
I'm looking to include reference genome annotations in an alignment, and for that I need a GenBank file with nucleotide sequence. On NCBI, when I click "show sequence", only the translated protein sequence shows up, but I tried it anyway. I get an error that the GenBank file doesn't contain sequence. How do I download a GenBank file with the annotations and nucleotide sequence information?

- Were you searching "GQuery" the main NCBI search you would want to ensure that you select nucleotide results (under "Genomes" section) from the searches.
- Open the sequence you want
- It should open by default in GenBank format
- Use "Send" drop-down towards the right of the page. Select "Complete record" and then "File" followed by "Create File".
That will allow you to download and save the sequence file locally.
