Finding novel transcripts of an organism
Hi all,
Could I please know if searching against whole NR and NT database would be sufficient to know if a sequence is novel or not? What other resources, do I need to check to find if it is a novel transcript? I would like to seek your kind advice and suggestions. Thanks in advance.

may be it depends that what is your species (model animal?) and is there any reference genome for it ?
