Ensembl chromosome other than 1-22, X, and Y
Hello,
What is the meaning of chromosome starting with letter K (KI270442.1, KI270467.1, KI270589.1,etc) from ensembl database? O only know human chromosome are 1-22, X and Y. Is there any implication for the gene which map to these kind of chromosome? Where I can find more information about this? Thank you.

The KI* and GL* scaffolds are unplaced scaffolds, which often don't have a know chromosome association. In short, these are assembled stretches believed to belong to the human genome but where we generally don't know where to put them. If you look at the UCSC names for these, then you can more easily tell if they have an associated chromosome or not.
