traditional/wet lab approaches for promoter analysis
Hi All, I'd like to get people's thoughts on the popular techniques of promoter analysis in a wet lab setting. Using bioinformatics is very powerful, but what are the popular wet lab techniques that people use nowadays? Promoter deletion studies, methylation specific PCRs, TFBS mutations were the bread and butter of promoter analysis years ago, but I don't see much of it now in high impact journals. Appreciate your input!

I'm not sure that the popular techniques have changed that much, it's just that the scope of papers have increased enough that those validations are increasingly getting pushed into the supplemental data.
