TCGA Barcode to uuid

Hi all!

I have downloaded some fastq files from TCGA. Now I want to map the id that is used as identifier for the fastq (eg abcdefg.fastq) to the uuid, such that I can obtain annotation information. I think there must be a mapping table between the sample names ( abcdefg ) and the uuid, but I cannot find it. Any help is highly appreciated!

Thanks

hi, If you go to TCGA website, choose 'Tools' from top menu and choose 'Annotations manager'. In the pop-up, just choose your cohort of interest and click search, you get the mapping. This is a shot from SKCM. enter image description here

Thanks! This is good! But I have a filename like this: xxxxxxxx_R1.fastq.gz and I have no idea what it is, all I know is that it is from TCGA and that it is STAD. In the table that you show me, I cant find annotation like this :/

hi, It seems to me that you have access to controlled data from TCGA (hence fastq). My knowledge is limited to what is available open-access from the website. I am sure that the controlled access website (CGHub?) must have such annotation maps too. I had jumped to conlusion from your post title that what you are after is UUID-to-BarCode. Sorry, I have no idea for those fastq IDs.
