artifact/false peaks visible in wiggle files

hi there

I'm looking at some WIG files in IGV and, while some peaks are clearly defined (see pic), I noted in numerous points across the genome some narrow, tall peaks that look like artifacts to me. MACS2 does not call them (thankfully) but I am trying to understand how they come about.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Low complexity regions, rRNA, etc. I'm not sure what species this is, but if it has a blacklist then have a look at that.

it's human. yes, it does have a blacklist and nope, I haven't looked at that yet. good points, thanks!
