Tilled regression analysis package (TRAP)

Hi,

  1. I would like to know how analysis with TRAP is different from linear regression for quantitative traits? I tried both with a data of 49 variants in a sample of 50 individuals. Is it advisable to do TRAP when you are analysing only cisQTLs? I tried both and there are differences in results obtained, though some are common
  2. Another query is in the final results from TRAP, there is a section lists P values-what are they?

e.g.: 8.207e-08, 2.491e-04 and 6.771e-04

PREDICTORS IN SELECTED SET (MAIN EFFECTS ONLY):
                                     ______Single_______ __Genome-selected__
Predictor Chr Position Tile / N P \ / N P \

snp4 X 136523847 A45 50 7.188e-03 3.646e-03

FITTED MODEL (MAIN EFFECTS ONLY):

serum =
              ( 6.20248)
            + ( 24.9027) x snp1
            + ( 15.7717) x snp2
            + ( 10.3505) x snp3
            + ( 13.0561) x snp4

What are the terms in parenthesis? Are these beta values?

Thanks in advance for any help
