This way it is much simpler to keep track of updates. If in three year from now on somebody searches for an small indel caller he will probably find the old question, he will read it, and thinks "Boy, this question is already six years old. Maybe I should ask for an up-to-date consensus". But he will likely not be aware of the discussion here... just think about it. ;-)
