PLAST is a high-performance sequence comparison tool created in our research lab, Inria-Genscale Team (Rennes, France). It is designed to run bank vs. bank sequence comparisons with sequences of any types (read, protein, contig, chromosome, ...). Similar to Blast, PLAST provides you with the five comparison methods (plastp, plastx, ...), runs really faster than Blast and provides high-level quality results.

PLAST 2.3.0 is now available as an open source project : c++ (core engine) and java (wrapper) codes, pre-compiled binaries (Linux, MacOSX and Windows), some benhmarks and documentation are all available from this URL: https://project.inria.fr/plast/
