Sine Absent In Maize?

I have searched for SINE elements in maize with RepeatMasker. It has found plenty of LTR elements, but none of SINE element. Is it possible? Google gives no clear answer, but suggest, that there should be some.

I suggest that you carefully read the papers by SanMiguel and Bennetzen as well as look at the TIGR Maize Database.
