Open suse 13.1 showing les size of RAM than what is original

Dear All,

I have been working on Linux (Open SUSE 12.1) and it showed a total memory of 8 GiB RAM. However, I have recently updated my system to open SUSE 13.1 and now it shows a total memory of 3.87 GiB RAM.

Can anyone help me to understand the reason for this and also how can I overcome this problem?
