Throuput of 3500 Genetic Analyzer from Applied Biosystems

I have a question regarding a '3500 Genetic Analyzer' (Applied Biosciences). We want to buy a sanger sequencing machine, but have no idea of what we should expect to get. Does anyone here has such a machine, or some insider information of what you can get out of this machine (in real life)?

We would be interested in the following information:

  • What does such a machine cost?
  • What is the read length you can get out?
  • How many molecules can I sequence in parallel?
  • What is the throughput per run?
  • What is the run time for one run?
  • How much would one run cost (chemicals, etc.)?

Thanks for your help!

Hello daiefa123!

We believe that this post does not fit the main topic of this site.

This is a question about sequencing and sequencers (not bioinformatics), so please take your question to seqanswers.com. Alternatively, call a sales rep for Applied Biosciences.

For this reason we have closed your question. This allows us to keep the site focused on the topics that the community can help with.

If you disagree please tell us why in a reply below, we'll be happy to talk about it.

Cheers!
