Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (or GA4GH in brief) "is an international coalition, dedicated to improving human health by maximizing the potential of genomic medicine through effective and responsible data sharing". The technical part of the project is hosted separately. A central idea is to define federated RESTful APIs (defined here) such that a client program could access data in the same way.
