About P/Or Value

In GWAS Analysis using PLINK. In assoc file result there is a column P and OR. I am not sure what is "OR". What does it mean "OR"? And what are expected values? I mean higher value or lower value?

Thanks,

P is the P value; OR is the Odds Ratio for the result. Consider reading the documentation to the tool: http://pngu.mgh.harvard.edu/~purcell/plink/anal.shtml. If you're unsure what a P value is, start reading statistics and genetics tutorials such as the GWAS series at Nature Reviews: Genetics.

Thanks, it is good enough. How to mark it as answer?

OR is odds ratio. An OR greater than one for a given genotype indicates increased risk for that phenotype.

Okay, then how about P? High value is good or bad?
