MEGAN, fasta file without sequence length in ID lin
Hello,
I am planning to use MEGAN. I am currently reading around to prepare. I have come across that MEGAN takes fasta files but have to have the sequence length in the ID line. Mine don't. I asked a friend who did this type of analysis some time ago and said it wont matter. But I just want to double check that MEGAN will take my fasta file without the sequence length. Did anyone every come across similar problem before? I am doing it from the command line.
Thanks

AFAIK there is no such limitation for MEGAN - it would kind of be a really odd limitation - after all the sequence is right there as well and the tool needs to read anyhow it so it will know how long it is

I've never use MEGAN but... you can just make a little dataset with sequence IDs with and without sequence lengths and see what is going on?
