Sorry this post will be closed.

We do not support linking to executable programs especially not for windows. This can be a major source for comprising one's computer.

If you want to develop a tool then

  1. create a website for it with information on the tool
  2. show and demonstrate how the tools is used,
  3. provide the download from that site.

I don't think the problem with your post is the chosen language. I don't think Biostars community has a problem with .NET. The problem is you shouldn't use this site to share links to executables as there is no way to tell what that program would actually do. If you think you can convince people to use your .NET tool that's ok, just don't link here directly to the tool but to a landing page explaining what your tool does.

On a side note, I do believe you will have a harder time convincing people to use a bioinformatic tool you only distribute in binary format for a platform very few in the community use.

as Carlos above already summarized the problem is not with the platform or tool, just the way you try to distribute it with a link to an executable

no one should ever click a link like that, see my answer on how to go about creating supporting website for it
