The Guangdong Institute of Advanced Biomaterials and Medical Devices (IBMD) is a public institution of Guangdong Province, established by South China University of Technology with the support of the National Medical Products Administration, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the National Health Commission. Under the leadership of Professor Wang Yingjun, a Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, IBMD serves as a national-level demonstration platform for collaborative innovation and technology commercialization in advanced medical devices and biomaterials.

The IBMD Data Center builds on the Institute’s multidisciplinary expertise and platform resources and specializes in the aggregation, governance, standardization, validation, and application of medical device data. Its work covers key areas across the medical device lifecycle, including product registration, regulatory oversight, procurement, market access, clinical application, medical insurance reimbursement, and industry development. Through data product development, analytical research, and customized digital solutions, the Data Center supports regulatory decision-making, industry research, corporate strategy, and healthcare innovation.
