Hi I'm interested in tBLASTn, so I would like to blast some protein sequences on my genome. I was recommended to use Maker. Did you try it and it works?

short answer: NO

longer answer: if you really insist possible yes. However why use Maker if you can simply run a TBlastN against your genome. unless you want to use the result as input for gene prediction, there is no point in going through Maker

Maker is good - but as lieven.sterck says, it is a genome annotation program. It does work and is not too tricky to configure.

Do you want to annotate a genome and create a geneset ?
