hello. i am a undergrĪ±duate student and i am doing a metaanalysis about SLE. the problem is i can not understand what is the role of a platform gpl.

SLE = systemic lupus erythematosus?

In GEO, each platform (e.g. microarray type) has a 'GPL' prefix. For example, Affymetrix SNP 6.0 is GPL6801, Affymetrix OncoScan FFPE is GPL18602, et cetera.
