Hello everyone, I am learning normalizations, I wonder when log2 and quantile normalization is used in each situation, may I ask if there is any material that compare these two types especially in microarray expression matrix for differentially expressed gene analysis? Thank you!

log2 is a transformation rather than a normalization. Are you talking about RNAseq or microarrays or something else entirely?

Hi landscape95,

It appears that your post has been cross-posted to another site:

https://biology.stackexchange.com/questions/72093/log2-vs-quantile-normalization

This is typically not recommended as it runs the risk of annoying people in both communities. In addition, you cross-posted to an off-topic site, the StackExchange site for bioinformatics is:

https://bioinformatics.stackexchange.com/
