I have attempted to launch Lositan on 2 different Macs (desktop running Yosemite and a MacBook running High Sierra) with no success. Every time I attempt to launch the jnlp file I receive the following error "Unable to launch this application". The following was in the the details portion of the error message: FailedDownloadException and Unable to load resource. I noticed that the popgen website is an https (https://popgen.net/soft/lositan/) site whereas the web address listed in the error message is an http (http://popgen.net/soft/lositan/code2/selwb4.jnlp) . Is this part of the problem? I have tried adding both addresses to the exceptions list in Java preferences, but that didn't help.

I'm having the same issue on a Windows 10 PC.

I have tried using Java 7.80 and the current version of Java 8.

I receive the same error: com.sun.deploy.net.FailedDownloadException: Unable to load resource: http://popgen.net/soft/lositan/code2/selwb4.jnlp at com.sun.deploy.net.DownloadEngine.actionDownload(Unknown Source) at com.sun.deploy.net.DownloadEngine.downloadResource(Unknown Source) at com.sun.deploy.cache.ResourceProviderImpl.getResource(Unknown Source) at com.sun.deploy.cache.ResourceProviderImpl.getResource(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.updateFinalLaunchDesc(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.prepareToLaunch(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.prepareToLaunch(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.launch(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.launchApp(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.access$000(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

Did anybody find the solution for this problem? I have the same issue on both my windows10 and Ubuntu 14.04.

I think it is worth checking out the discussion here: LOSITAN - illegal URL redirect

I've not been able to get it running yet using the solutions provided there though. I'm also trying to install the Python executable developer version of Lositan (can download on Lositan homepage) onto a server instead.
