Setting up local blast on webpage

Dear all I am preparing a biological database for which i want to embed a blast webpage with local blast server. I working on Ubundu. Can anyone help me out doing this task. I have gone through this link: http://blog.pansapiens.com/2008/08/25/setting-up-wwwblast-on-ubuntu-apache/ but could not get the hang of it. Kindly provide me any tutorial if someone has already used it and implemented it.

You may be interested in SequenceServer, it may be an easier set-up path for you. Otherwise, you need to learn about CGI programming or use some web development framework.

Does sequenceserver work in a similar way as BLAST do?

Yes. It's basically a wrapper for a local installation of NCBI blast+ and local databases with a web-based graphical user interface, i.e. what I understood you wanted to accomplish.
