I am just starting to approach bioinformatics, I have some basic knowledge about mRNA, DNA, transcription, translation, etc. and computer science knowledge of R and programming. But I am not good at (or I can say I am not clear about) long non-coding RNA, etc. I want to find a book/ebook that can help me develop knowledge in bioinformatics. Something can be "theoretical" that can explain fundamental in biology and computer science. I need the one that help me with basic definitions, how can they be "translated" into computation. Thanks in advance!

For a "How to do X analysis" questions, there is Biostars Handbook. It is not free, but provides a practical introduction to bioinformatics analyses with a focus on high-throughput sequencing data.

For other basic biology concepts/questions you can search the Molecular Biology of the Cell book at NCBI.

@Deepak has a comprehensive list of learning resources in this thread: Bioinformatics courses, workshops or training

Thank you! Have you read "Bioinformatics-Sequence and Genome Analysis" by David Mount? Is it good to start?
