Applications are invited for an immediately available Visveswaraya PhD Scholar position at the Amrita School of Engineering, Dept. of Computer Science and Engg., Bengaluru with Dr. Prashanth Athri. This position would train the candidate in various data science/analystics tracks, as well as gain some perspective on the explosive bioinformatics/ precision medicine domain.

Requirements: Prospective candidates will have strong OO programming skills & a Masters degree.

Project title - Semantic web based bio- medical/informatics data integration: Many prominent questions that are relevant in a clinical, biomedical or a even a research context, can only be answered by serially querying multiple databases. In this project we seek to integrate the clinical, genomic, bio-medical/informatic databases via semantic technologies, various machine learning and data analytic algorithms.

I have funding for PhD JRF positions, will consider motivated BTechs. The Visveswaraya fellowship, I believe is for Masters' holders.
