Hello everyone,

I got my Bachelor and master's degree in biology and biochemistry. Before master we learned C language for one semester in uni., of course it's been several years now.

Several month ago my boss let analysis content of the several fasta files, and then I install ubuntu 12.04 to my laptop and played with them on terminal for a while, and I felt which is very convenient. Now I realize I want to learn some programming language but don't know witch one would be the good choice.

I searched for topics related to this via some search engines besides Google (sadly which is blocked here).

Some of those posts they compare PHP, Perl and Python. and according to them I think they are all good. but I wanna chose which is suitable for my situation (with my current no knowledge of programming).

Later I may do transcriptome analysis.
