EBI MGnify metadata database for local query

The NCBI SRA dataset had a nice SQL database that one can download for local queries. Does such a database exist for EBI and/or EBI/MGnify? Or perhaps a package for R/Python? Thanks.

Have you tried the biomaRt package for R? What are your exact needs out of this database/package?
