Inscripta is developing the world's first scalable platform for benchtop Digital Genome Engineering. The company’s advanced CRISPR-based platform, consisting of an instrument, reagents, and software, will offer a fully automated workflow that enables multiplexed, trackable editing of cells at an unprecedented scale. Inscripta’s goal is to empower scientists whose gene editing research is stifled by current technical and licensing limitations. By providing this unique platform and engaging in collaborative business practices, such as making its MAD7 CRISPR nuclease free for research purposes, the company enables scientists to realize a new era of biological discovery. Due to rapid growth Inscripta has an opening for an opening for an exception candidate to lead an effort on importing and creating content solutions for internal and external use. The position can be located in either our Boulder, CO location or our Pleasanton, CA location.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced database architect and developer to support our content and data curation efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience with enterprise relational database systems as well as good working knowledge of other modern data storage systems. Experience supporting complex and efficient search strategies a must. In addition to designing these systems, the candidate will build and support a variety of applications using these systems. Experience working with biological datasets, particularly large genomic datasets is a big plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop database systems to support internal and customer needs.
  • Develop and optimize queries for large data retrieval.
  • Work with internal teams to build the associated tools needed to populate and use the databases.
  • Work with curation teams to develop systems for data cleaning and curation.
  • Support the product development team as necessary.

Requirements

  • Five to ten years developing relational databases using enterprise systems a must.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining large data stores is required.
  • Experience developing and optimizing complex queries on large data systems a must.
  • Experience with biological, genomic and/or sequence data desired.
